If you've ever dreamt up a fantastic flavour of beer or imagined a bold blend of lager that doesn't exist on the shelves, you're not the only one. When Innis and Gunn invited Canadians to share their most inventive flavours for the brand’s newest limited-edition brew, thousands of entrants applied with their beer ideas.

New Brunswicker, Don Guimond, was announced as the first Canadian winner with his curveball creation; a Black IPA with Coconut and Rhubarb. The pale ale was brewed in Scotland by Guimond and Innis & Gunn Master Brewer Dougal Gunn Sharp in February, and will be available on store shelves for a limited time.

“We were intrigued by Don’s idea the moment we heard it. A Black IPA with Coconut and Rhubarb? It sounded just crazy enough to be delicious,” said Dougal Gunn Sharp, the founder of the Edinburgh-based craft brewer.

The jet black IPA, brewed with chocolate and crystal malt, has bold citrus and subtle coffee aromas. With mellow coconut flavours, followed by a zippy rhubarb finish, you'll practically hear palm trees swaying in the background – an imaginary tropical paradise you may reach quickly at a potent 6.2 % ABV.

Innis & Gunn's Don's Choice will be available at LCBO stores across Ontario for a limited time beginning late October and early November.
