The official drink of the Kentucky Derby, the mint julep sees bourbon, mint and simple syrup combined for a refreshing and sophisticated tipple. It's been offered at the Derby for over 100 years and the number of drinks served during the two-day event is now well over 100,000. For the traditional experience, serve it in a pewter cup, garnished with mint. But a high ball or Collins glass will also work in a pinch.
