Make This: Barilla's Linguine with Caramelized Apple, Pumpkin and Bacon

Make this quick and easy linguine for your next big family gathering – then head over to our Instagram for a chance to win a year’s worth of Barilla pasta.

We definitely have plenty of pasta on standby in our cupboards so we can whip up a hearty meal whenever the mood strikes – but with plenty of brands out there, it's hard to know which to choose. Barilla, the world's biggest pasta maker, is our top choice because of their focus on gastronomy. Their pasta has been prepared by top chefs at the Canada's 100 Best cooking issue launch party, as well as young chefs at the Barilla Pasta World Championship.

Foodism has teamed up with Barilla to give away a year's worth of pasta, so you can start cooking with the best of them. To win 10 boxes per month, head over to our Instagram now and follow the instructions to enter. Contest closes January 4, 2019.

Check out their tasty recipe for Linguine with Caramelized Apple, Pumpkin and Bacon:

1 box Barilla® Linguine
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
3 cups apples, peeled, diced ½ inch
3 cups pumpkin* peeled, diced ½ inch
6 slices thick cut bacon, ½ inch strips
1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
Sea salt and black pepper to taste
2 tablespoons pumpkin seeds, toasted
1 small goat cheese log

*can substitute butternut squash

Preheat oven to 425° F. In mixing bowl combine olive oil, apples, pumpkin, thyme and bacon lardoons. Place on nonstick baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes until apples are caramelized and pumpkin is soft.

Cook pasta according to package directions; drain, reserving ½ cup pasta water. Place pasta and pasta water back in a saucepan over medium heat. Add apple mixture, scrapping all ingredients from baking sheet into pasta. Toss and heat through, season to taste. Place in eight bowls and top with toasted pumpkin seeds and cheese.
