Celebrate the Day of the Dead with this tequila cocktail

Raise your spirits with this 'Eh-Spe-Hismo’ Jarritos cocktail recipe from El Catrin and enter to win a trip for two to Mexico.


With Halloween right around the corner and storefronts filling up with cobwebs and jack-o-lanterns, it would be easy to think it was the only holiday happening this month. But October also plays host to another colourful celebration with a focus on the afterlife.

Mexican festival, the Day of the Dead (or Día de Muertos in Spanish), is a holiday to remember lost loved ones that runs from October 31 to November 2. 

Lift your spirits on Day of the Dead with this Jarritos cocktail recipe from El Catrin:


1.5 oz Añejo Tequila
0.5 oz Blue Curacao
1 oz Bar Mix (2 ½ tsp water 1 tsp lime juice, 1 tsp lemon juice, & ½ tsp sugar)
Lime Jarritos
Cucumber slices
Sweet & spicy rimmer mix


Dip glass rim in sweet & spicy rimmer mix. Fill glass with ice. Combine Añejo Tequilla, Blue Curacao & bar mix in a shaker and shake well. Pour over ice and top off with Lime Jarritos. Garnish with cucumber slices.
