The Beam family has been crafting whiskey in Kentucky since 1795, and Jim Beam has been the best selling bourbon whiskey in the world since 1935. According to US law, bourbon must be aged in oak barrels that have been charred on the inside, and each oak barrel can only be used once to make bourbon.
Jim Beam Double Oak, however, is twice barrelled, which means the whiskey is matured in a second charred oak barrel. This process allows the liquid to develop a deeper oak spiciness, along with rich flavours of caramel and sweet vanilla. Crafted as a sipping style of bourbon, Jim Beam Double Oak is also ideal in cocktails.
- 1.5 oz Jim Beam Double Oak
- 1 oz fresh lemonade (1:1:1 fresh lemon juice : sugar : water)
- ½ oz egg white
Shake vigorously with ice to enhance frothy foam and strain finely into a chilled cocktail glass. Add 3 dashes aromatic bitters on top if desired.
