For me, country music can be a little hit or miss, but I can always get behind a beautiful glass of red wine. From country rockstar Zac Brown, lead singer of Zac Brown Band, Z. Alexander Brown Uncaged Cabernet Sauvignon is a bold red that captures the convivial spirit of country living. It's the kind of red wine you want to dole out into four glasses to share with friends and family, paired with good conversation, delicious food and great music — even if it's not country.

While Zac Brown may know a lot about the passion and creativity that goes into crafting an excellent bottle of wine, he enlisted the help of seasoned winemaker John Killebrew (Delicato Family Wines) for this collaboration. The result is a big, juicy California cab.

Z. Alexander Brown Uncaged Cabernet Sauvignon opens with rich aromas of black cherry and mocha with sweet hints of toasted oak. On the palate, more juicy, ripe berry flavours mingle with notes of vanilla and cassis. It's a smooth and balanced crowd-pleaser, especially among red wine drinkers. Personally, California cabs always rank at the top of my list, and this serve is no exception.

I would pair it with a perfectly grilled steak, but a sloppy burger works too. This wine shines with whatever it's next to.
