Ever taken a sip of an Aperol spritz and been whisked back to that trattoria in an Italian market square? Or popped open a bottle of wine and instantly recalled the time you spent a lazy afternoon strolling that winery’s vineyards two summers ago? Food and drink has always been an experience, and the best kind can instantly take you back to a moment in time.
Taking place on June 28 at George Brown College, the Taste of Place Summit understands the importance of bringing the food and drink of a specific area to life. That’s why they’re launching a can’t-miss global summit this summer where destination and economic developers, managers, thought leaders and marketers meet to build their tastes of place, unlocking the positive power of growing culinary tourism. Thoughtful discussions with a side of delicious dishes? Sign us up!
The event for industry professionals is presented by the Culinary Tourism Alliance in partnership with George Brown College, and with Foodism and Escapism as the official media partner. The Taste of Place Summit features a lineup of Canada’s most engaging chefs and leaders, gathered together to create meaningful and sustainable taste of place experiences.
Guests at the Summit will be privy to panel discussions and presentations from culinary and agritourism experts like chef Jason Bangerter of Langdon Hall, in conversation with our very own editor Katie Bridges; Lori McCarthy, the founder and operator of Food Culture Place, a Cultural Food Residency program crafted to invite people to experience Newfoundland’s way of life; and chef Tammy Maki, the CEO of the award-winning Raven Rising-Global Indigenous Chocolates.
