Nighttime food cravings can strike at peculiar hours. But fortunately there’s a great event happening at George Brown's School of Hospitality & Culinary Arts on October 25th where you can indulge in late night snacks from some of the city’s best chefs and eateries – all in support of a great cause.
At Food For Action’s Nightcap, ten local eateries will be serving up a variety of sweet and savoury offerings. Chefs from each location will be on-site, giving Nightcap guests the opportunity to meet some of their favourite Toronto food personalities. Catch chef Nuit Regular from Pai and Kiin creating her wing bean salad and Amy Rosen dishing out her signature cinnamon buns. Levetto’s Shahir Massoud will also have a variety of his pizzas on offer and Penny Candy’s Bryce Taylor-Vaisey is presenting a selection of his jams along with great cheeses to match. Here's a list of who will be participating:
- Katie Bradley, REVEL Foods
- Shinji Yamaguchi, Gushi
- Shahir Massoud, Levetto
- Nuit Regular, Pai & Kiin
- Amy Rosen, Rosen's Cinnamon Buns
- Bryce Taylor-Vaisey, Penny Candy Jam
- Michael Tong, Sublime Catering
The region’s best wineries and breweries will also be pouring, such as High Park Brewery, Waupoos and Trail Estate. Oenophiles won’t want to miss the Wine Wall draw, where guests can purchase a $20 numbered cork and take home the corresponding wine. There are a few rarer bottles up for grabs such as a 2008 Fontodi Chianti Classico and Meritage bottles from Adamo Estates.
Your entry ticket not only gets you unlimited food and drink for the evening, but you’ll also feel good about supporting Action Against Hunger’s food security and empowerment programs like Generation Nutrition – a mobile food garden project where Canadian youth learn how to grow and cook nutritious food for their communities.
