Here at Foodism there’s only one thing we love more than eating and drinking, and that’s wining and dining for a good cause.
On February 28th, FoodShare's annual fundraiser Recipe for Change is back and better than ever. Starting from 6 p.m., you'll have unlimited access to over 30 curated food and drink stations. Held at the elegant Bram & Bluma Appel Salon in the Toronto Reference Library, the celebration of culinary artistry and vision will feature offerings from some of Toronto's most talented black chefs, brewers and winemakers.
After chowing down, you can get down on the dance floor with a live DJ and a reggae band. The fun doesn't stop there – a drag queen performance will have you lip-sync-ing for your life all night.
Best of all, the proceeds from Recipe for Change will go towards supporting FoodShare initiatives that increase equitable access to good food for Torontonians.
As Canada's largest food justice organization, FoodShare helps more than 250,000 Torotonians access fresh, nutritious food through student nutrition and food literacy programs, urban farms and community gardens in low-income neighbourhoods, affordable produce markets, community kitchens, and much more. You can get FoodShare's Good Food Box, full of fresh produce, delivered weekly to your doorstep with the revenue supporting their programs.
FoodShare collaborates with marginalized communities that are most affected by poverty and food insecurity.
