We’re always on the lookout for new summer drinks, and this year, the Aperol Spritz has topped our list of personal favourites. If you’ve never had an Aperol Spritz before, it’s not too late to start. Luckily for you (and for us), Aperol has opened Bar Aperol, a new bar and patio on Queen West that specializes in pouring the refreshingly bittersweet libation.
Bar Aperol honours the Italian tradition of aperitivo – pre-dinner refreshment with the aim of whetting your appetite before your meal. Aperitivo comes from the Latin word “aperire,” which means “to open.” Eating or drinking an aperitivo before a meal opens your appetite so that you can fully enjoy your meal.
Bar Aperol celebrates this spirit by offering a succinct shortlist of drinks. Besides the Aperol Spritz, you can sip a Crodino – another traditional Italian aperitif which presents a crisp blend of citrus and red fruits – and is completely non-alcoholic, so there’s no need to stress about how many you consume in one sitting.
For those who need a late afternoon kick, Bar Aperol offers Lavazza espresso, Italy’s favourite coffee brand. You can also sample a lineup of charcuterie boards courtesy of The Cheese Boutique.
Bar Aperol is only here until July 28, so if you want to experience this lively patio scene, you’ll have to act quickly.
Located at 1030 Queen Street West, you can grab a drink at Bar Aperol from July 4th to July 28th, open Thursday to Friday from 4pm – 11pm and Saturday to Sunday from 2pm - 10pm.
