We're inclined to think that getting halfway through the week unscathed is cause enough for celebration – and one of the ways we choose to pat ourselves on the back is with a delicious cocktail.
However, if you're looking for further justification for a midweek tipple, we've got just the thing. Earls Bar + Kitchen has teamed up with Rethink Breast Cancer to support their incredible cause during the month of October – by changing the way we talk about breast cancer, one pink drink at a time. For every Strawberry Rhubarb Fizz cocktail or mocktail purchased across all of their Ontario locations, Earls will donate $2 to Rethink Breast Cancer.
The swoon-worthy, bright pink drink ($12.50) is made with Tito’s Handmade vodka, Aperol, rhubarb, fresh lime, soda, green strawberry bitters and meringue foam. If you're not looking to imbibe, you can still support the cause; their mocktail version of the Strawberry Rhubarb Fizz ($5) is every bit as yummy – and it's an important option for those currently battling cancer.
Unfortunately, breast cancer affects women of all ages. In Canada, it affects 5% of young women under 40 and is the second most common cause of cancer-related deaths in females. Rethink Breast Cancer want to flip the script on the perception that only older women suffer from the disease, and ensure that patients receive age-appropriate treatment.
Earlss King Street spot has long been a bar staple for downtown hangouts. Located in the heart of the financial district, it's in easy range of Union Station and a whole host of other attractions, making it the perfect spot to grab a round of drinks with friends and catch up on their patio or from the snug of their chic interior.
The initiative will be running at all five Ontario locations (Toronto, Woodbridge, Mississauga, London and Burlington), so make sure you join Earl's Kitchen + Bar and Rethink Breast Cancer for a round.
