The cold months are officially upon us. While we have yet to invent a way to completely avoid winter in the City in general, we do have the perfect cocktail to keep you warm and snuggly until spring rolls around. Here's East Thirty Six's notable mixologist Julian Salomone's take on the Manhattan. This rum-based update of the Manhattan gets its herbal flair from Dubonnet Rouge and some fine Old Fashion bitters. Bring it on wind chill!

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Havana Club Anejo Reserva
  • 1 oz Dubonnet Rouge
  • 2 dashes Fee Brothers Old Fashion Aromatic Bitters

Method

  1. Fill a rock glass with ice. Pour all ingredients overtop.
  2. Give a light stir with a cocktail spoon.
  3. Garnish with an amarena (or maraschino) cherry.
