If you're looking to up your snack game, Jarlsberg® is made to melt and we've got a recipe for their decadent twist on a classic grilled cheese with mushrooms, onions and truffle mayonnaise. Go ahead, make your day. 


  • 2 slices of toastie bread
  • 2-3 tbsp butter
  • 4 slices of Jarlsberg®
  • 70 g mushrooms
  • 1/2 onion 
  • 1 tsp white sugar
  • Parsley (optional)
  • Truffle mayonnaise (or regular mayo)


1. Heat the oven to 225 °C.

2. Chop and fry the mushrooms in butter until soft and nicely browned.

3. Fry the onion in butter and sugar until caramelised.

4. Spread butter on the bread and add the Jarlsberg® cheese slices.

5. Add the fried mushrooms and caramelised onion.

6. Fry the sandwich in a cast-iron pan with plenty of butter until golden.

7. Top with chopped parsley and serve with truffle mayonnaise.
