If you're looking for a stalwart to sip on, Bacardi Reserva Ocho ($34.95), one of the oldest private rum blends in the world, is a classy way to celebrate. Enjoyed for seven generations by the Bacardi family, this golden rum has been aged for eight years. Drinkers will be rewarded with its notes of prune, apricot and nutmeg, best served in an iconic Old Fashioned cocktail.
For a rum that needs no accompaniments, Bacardi Gran Reserva Diez ($44.95). The youngest rum in the bottle is ten years old, thanks to the warm, humid Caribbean climate which matures 3-4 times more quickly than a scotch.
