Since the 1800s, Torontonians have flocked to the St. Lawrence Market neighbourhood for its diverse food scene. In 2024, it remains a foodie destination; boasting well over 100 restaurants and the world-renowned St. Lawrence Market, Old Toronto attracts local love and international gourmands alike.

Over two warm summer days this August, the Feast of St. Lawrence will take over Market Street. It’s set to be a huge celebration of the neighbourhood’s rich culinary history that you definitely won’t want to miss. The festivities kick off on August 9 from 6–10 p.m. with an unforgettable, gourmet, multi-course picnic dinner for charity: the Feast of St. Lawrence Picnic Under the Stars.

Guests enjoying the Feast of St. Lawrence Picnic Under the Stars

This isn’t your average checkered blanket, sandwiches and wine in the park. Some of the top chefs in the St. Lawrence Market neighbourhood, from restaurants like Amano Trattoria, C’est What, Omni King Edward Hotel and George Brown College will prepare five exceptional courses that range from whimsical, savoury cannolis to a citrus duck confit with dried blueberry and chili lime dressing. You and your guest can enjoy your meal with one complimentary glass of wine and one vodka, gin or whisky cocktail each, and additional glasses of wine or cocktails can be purchased for a $10 donation.

Bring your date, because the romance will be turned up to 10. Each picnic is for two; set on the beautifully lit street, situated between charming historical buildings and St. Lawrence Market, you’ll be serenaded by live music as the setting sun bathes the area in golden rays, and the stars begin to twinkle above. Early bird tickets are on sale for $158 until July 26, then $170 until the event. A portion of each sale goes to Second Harvest.
