Add to calendarIt’s hard to think of anything we care more about than food, drink and the people who make it. So, you can bet we RSVP pretty quickly to a summit that gathers the most important players under one roof. The Taste of Place Summit is back, and will be taking over Montréal in collaboration with Québec’s renowned tourism and hospitality school, the Institut de tourisme et d’hôtellerie du Québec from May 26–28, 2024.
The Taste of Place Summit is a partnership established in 2023 between the Culinary Tourism Alliance and George Brown College. The result is a one-of-a-kind annual event in Canada that’s dedicated to boosting the culinary and agritourism industry worldwide. The delicious event will feature panel discussions on current topics, engaging keynote speakers and networking opportunities aimed at inspiring leaders in Canada's culinary and agritourism sectors.
The event takes place over three days and will promote local tourism through a mix of expert discussions and first-person food and farm experiences in Montréal, and nearby gems like Montérégie, the Laurentians and the Eastern Townships.
Slip on your comfy shoes and stretchy pants and try Jewish dishes on a walking tour, learn about regenerative farming at a farm-to-table lunch inside Espace Old Mill, and sip wine among the vines at Vignoble Rivière du Chêne.
The Taste of Place Summit: What's Happening?
May 26: Guests receive a warm welcome to enjoy drinks and light bites at the opening reception at ITHQ from 3–5 p.m.
May 27: Grab your stretchy pants! We're going on learning journeys through Montréal and nearby gems like Montérégie, the Laurentians and the Eastern Townships. You'll dive into some of the best food and farm experiences around.
May 28: We're wrapping up with a day of insights and stories at ITHQ. Experts will spill the beans on creating unforgettable local food experiences that celebrate and preserve the spirit of their homes.
The Summit is an annual event that takes place in an alternative province every other year, with odd years returning to Toronto. In 2025, the event will return to George Brown College, but if you can’t wait that long, book a trip to Montréal to experience the magic of the province.
