You may have noticed Aperol Spritz popping up on your Instagram feed of late, but the Italian cocktail has been delighting drinkers since the 1950s. Inspired by the Venetian mix of white wine and soda, the drink combines equal parts Prosecco with Aperol – an Italian apéritif made from a secret blend of herbs and roots – before topping things off with soda and a slice of orange.
The unmistakable orange cocktail is perfect for enjoying with friends and matches well with shareable snacks and appetizers. Pair with traditional small dishes or "cicchetti" like tiny sandwiches and plates of olives the next time you have guests over.
