The end of summer doesn't mean that our culinary adventures are over for the year. The changing leaves and crisp weather signal that some are just beginning.
Fall is harvest season, and Countylicious is the perfect way to celebrate. A semi-annual gastronomic extravaganza, the event is the perfect opportunity to taste a variety of local, delicious food and drink in gorgeous Prince Edward County. The region encompasses several quaint Ontario towns, each with their own charm and local treasures to discover.
A scenic 2.5-hour drive from Toronto, The County is home to breathtaking lakeside vistas and gorgeous farmland. All of the rich growing areas result in an abundance of wineries and farm-to-table restaurants, along with breweries and cideries — all showcasing local ingredients. Countylicious is the perfect opportunity to savour the bounty of The County.
Running from October 24 to November 17, Countylicious will see a range of restaurants offering delicious prix-fixe menus that feature at least one local producer in every dish. Priced at $20–$40 for lunch and $40–$65 for dinner, the menus allow every foodie to find something that suits their tastes. Check in advance to see what each restaurant is serving.
Alongside your meal, sip on local County-produced drinks, from artisanal sodas, beer and cider to wine from the area's more than 40 different wineries. You'll also find local distilleries crafting top-notch spirits mixed into cocktails. If you love what you've sampled, visit the wineries, cideries, breweries and distilleries to grab a bottle to take home. You might even stumble upon more great food, live music, games and other events.

The Drake may be credited with starting the boutique hotel trend in Prince Edward County with the opening of the lake house-style Drake Devonshire and the funky Drake Motor Inn, but now dozens have moved into The County, along with bed and breakfasts, motels and cottage rentals. The Royal Hotel brings glam accommodations to Picton, while The June Motel is a hip millennial hangout bathed in retro pastels and cute neon signs. Whatever your speed, you're sure to find a lovely abode that fits your needs during your stay in The County.
