Pink Sky: What's the vibe
Mussels dripping with white wine shallot sauce, buttery toasted rolls stuffed with lobster and seafood towers piled high with an assortment of juicy crustaceans — all of these delights and more await you inside Pink Sky. Opened on King Street West at the end of last summer, the restaurant comes to us from Hanif Harji of Scale Hospitality and Charles Khabouth of Ink Entertainment — two big players behind hotspots all over the city.
Pink Sky is a seafood lover's paradise, set in a space reminiscent of port warehouses on the shores of the Eastern Seaboard, only much, much sexier. Not many restaurants have the ability to double as a go-to neighbourhood haunt and a destination for an extravagant, lights-out meal — Pink Sky is one of the special ones that can do both.
Slide into one of the burnt-orange leather banquettes and take in a bumping atmosphere worthy of being both your new favourite local spot and your go-to for a big night out.
Pink Sky: What to drink
Quite possibly one of the best-stocked bars in the city, the drink choices at Pink Sky are plentiful. Wines are available by the glass or bottle from a list that goes on for days. Their whisky collection is rather impressive, too, spanning from bourbon and rye to Japanese whisky and scotch with subcategories such as speyside and highlands also represented. Meanwhile, the cocktail program offers delicious and unique takes on the classics.
Pink Sky: What's on the menu
The menu here is like a “best of” album, covering seafood’s greatest hits of all time. For starters, crispy fried seafood-and-shrimp cocktail appear alongside lobster bisque, jumbo lump crab cakes and tuna tartare. And there’s a raw bar with oysters, too. Then, dig into mains like charcoal-grilled fish, shrimp or octopus, and don’t you dare skip on the truffle-lobster mac and cheese.
Ordering steak at a seafood restaurant can be, well, not the best idea, but that’s far from the case at Pink Sky. Here, the delicious dishes from land and sea can both hold their own and then some, so even those who shy away from seafood can find plenty to enjoy. The tender, perfectly seasoned 24-oz rib eye can stand up against any of the knockout fish dishes, and may even have a chance at stealing the show.
