In-person shopping is a bit of a dying art. Why put on your shoes and trudge to the brick-and-mortar equivalent, when you could trawl through the rails online from the comfort of your robe and with snacks at arms length?

Unless, of course, there was a place you could find a world of of vintage treasures, a curated selection of local clothing, jewelry and home goods made by local artisans, small business and community members. Shomigo Summer Market, which takes place every Saturday and Sunday from now until the end of July, offers all of the above, plus some fabulous food vendors to boot.

The local marketplace will be connecting shoppers and makers, both inside and outside Roy Thompson Hall for the rest of the month, so you can give back to Toronto creators and go home with one-of-a-kind purchases.

The first 500 attendees each day will get a free tote bag, plus there will be live music and entertainment, including free face painting and balloon animals for the youngest shoppers.

Open to the public, Shomigo Summer Market will occur at Roy Thompson Hall for three consecutive weekends: July 13-14, July 20-21 and July 27-28 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. Early bird tickets are only $6, and you can head to shomigomarkets.com to find out which vendors are taking part and to plan your trip.
