Maddy Goldberg began studying social work at the University of Guelph but quickly realized that cooking was much more than a pastime. She enrolled in culinary school at George Brown College where she was put through her paces in chef training. After graduating, Goldberg put her culinary skills to practice working as a line cook at Aloette, before leading a lunch service at Salon by Alo during COVID closures.

For many, this would be a dream foothold in the industry, but Goldberg's next act saw her move away from restaurant kitchens and into the world of private dining. What began on Instagram as a way to share home cooking soon blew up in popularity, leading to an account with more than 100k followers, and a professional career. In 2020, Goldberg launched Cook Eat, a platform that blends her social work background with her passion for food.

We delve into every aspect of the role, from brainstorming recipes and curating personal dining experiences to meal prep, transportation and billing. Watch as we shadow Goldberg and find out what goes into the (not-so) average day of a private chef.
